We are among the very few Italian companies able to carry out specialized analysis of photovoltaic systems. The services we offer include IV and DIV analysis which are essential for warranty claim procedures or requesting reimbursement from insurance companies. The measurement and calculation of the IV curve (current – voltage), of the module or of the string, enables the identification of short-circuit currents and no-load voltages. IV Curves can be performed in the daylight or at night (Dark IV) by appropriately feeding the strings and thus independent of weather conditions, temperature and radiation.

The IV curve and the consequent calculation of the equivalent resistances can provide very useful indications for identifying problems related to:

1) short circuits of by-pass diodes
2) corrosion of the glass
3) delamination phenomena
4) degradation of modules
5) PID (Potential Induced Degradation)
6) LID (Light Induced Degradation) for crystalline modules
7) short circuit within cells
8) broken cells.

We recommend carrying out IV and DIV analyses in the following cases:

• underperforming system
• problems resulting from poor insulation
• aesthetic anomalies (ribbon oxidation, backsheet not intact, yellowing of the module, etc.)

These analyses can be performed all year round either day or night.
